Linocut at BAAM#10
We invite you to a creative workshop as part of Baam, where you will get to know the technique of linocut printing and create unique prints with your own hands. During the workshop, you will go through the entire process — from developing a sketch and carving the image on linoleum to making the final print. You can create Christmas cards or any other image of your choice — a great way to try a new artistic technique, make original gifts, and enjoy a creative atmosphere.
Linocut is a type of relief printing in which paper is “stamped” with ink from the raised surface of the plate. Linoleum is soft and flexible, making it an ideal material for engraving: when carving, you remove the areas that will remain white, while the raised areas will print in black or in color. Linocut became widely known thanks to Picasso, although originally it was considered a student medium for practicing woodcut techniques.
Each participant will create their own drawing based on a personal design. The workshop lasts from 1 hour to 2.5 hours, depending on the complexity of your print. During the session, you will be able to produce up to 5 prints of your design on A4 DIN paper.
